World Gratitude Day is a holiday celebrated annually on September 21. Its purpose is to remind people around the world of the importance of expressing gratitude for what they have, and to encourage them to appreciate the positive moments in their lives, relationships, and those around them.

History of the holiday
World Gratitude Day began in 1965. The idea of the celebration belongs to Sri Chinmoy, a spiritual teacher and peacemaker. He proposed the idea of creating such a day during a dinner at a hotel in Hawaii, where representatives of different countries gathered. The idea was accepted with enthusiasm, and at a UN conference in 1977, the date was recognized as an international holiday.

This day does not have strict traditions or rituals, but there are several popular ways to celebrate it:

Personal acts of gratitude. People can express gratitude to their loved ones - family, friends, colleagues - for their support, love and friendship. This can be done through words, letters, or simple acts of kindness.

Gratitude journal. Many people keep a journal where they write down the things they are grateful for. This helps them to consciously appreciate even small joys and positive events.

Community events. Many cities and communities organize events dedicated to gratitude - these can be charity events, workshops, or simply gatherings of people who want to celebrate the importance of gratitude in their lives.

Gratitude meditation. Meditations aimed at focusing on what people are grateful for in their lives help to strengthen feelings of gratitude and peace.
